On 25th September, our school proudly celebrated the 25th Anniversary of the European Day of Languages. The event was organised by our EPAS Ambassadors—Brooke Peters, Leni Coleman, Anisha Atanda, and Victoria Herbert—who prepared and led a wonderful day of activities.
Highlights included:
-
Scavenger hunts for 2nd-year students, guided by TY students
-
A lively whole-school Kahoot quiz and celebration in the hall
-
Language workshops, with TY students teaching mini-lessons in Polish, French, German, Romanian, Spanish, and Italian
-
Speak for a treat event in the Hall, giving students a “flavour” of Europe
-
A Google form survey to capture and celebrate the many languages spoken in our school community
The day was filled with fun, pride, and teamwork, showcasing the richness of our students’ multilingual talents and heritage. It was inspiring to see how proud our students were of their ability to speak languages other than English. The European Day of Languages gave them the perfect opportunity to showcase their skills and to share the richness of their cultural backgrounds.
A huge thank you to our Ambassadors and staff for making the day such a success. It was a true celebration of language, culture, and the diversity that makes our school community so special
