This past week, our school came together for a cause that was as heartwarming as it was delicious. Students organised a bake sale to raise funds for the Red Cross, combining their love for baking with a desire to make a difference in the community. The bake sale, held in the school hall, was a great success. Tables were filled with homemade treats, all baked by the school community. The event stemmed from a student-led initiative to support the Red Cross, which provides aid in natural disasters, conflicts, and medical emergencies. Our goal was simple: raise as much as possible for their life-saving work.

Students collaborated on everything from baking to promotion, using posters and announcements to spread the word. The response was overwhelming, and by the end of the day, we had raised €351 for the Red Cross. Beyond fundraising, the event united the school in a shared act of kindness.
The Red Cross plays a crucial role in humanitarian aid, responding to crises worldwide. In Gaza, they deliver medical supplies, emergency healthcare, and essential aid to displaced families. In Ukraine, they provide medical assistance, evacuate civilians, and offer psychological support. In the DRC, they address humanitarian crises caused by conflict, ensuring communities have access to clean water, food, and healthcare. Their work is vital, often carried out in the most challenging conditions, and relies on donations to continue.
A huge thank you to everyone who baked, volunteered, and donated. This event proved that small acts, like baking cookies, can create meaningful change. We look forward to organising more initiatives and inspiring others to support important causes.
