We are thrilled to announce that our talented students—Indira Marín, Amy Wang and Jimena Prieto —have been recognized as runners-up in the prestigious Green-Schools Ireland Water Video Competition 2026.
Their creative and impactful video entry highlighted the importance of water conservation, aligning with this year's theme, 'Water and Me / Mise agus Uisce' .
About Green-Schools Ireland
Green-Schools, operated by An Taisce, is Ireland's leading environmental management and education programme for schools. It promotes long-term, whole-school action for the environment and is student-led, involving the wider community. The programme encompasses various themes, including Litter and Waste, Energy, Water, Travel, Biodiversity, and Global Citizenship.
The Green-Schools Water Video Competition is an annual event open to secondary schools participating in the Water Theme. Students are invited to create a 1-to-3 minute video around the theme "Water is Life," aiming to inspire awareness and action on water conservation. Winners are invited to a prize-giving ceremony in DCU. The event celebrates the efforts of students participating in various Green-Schools programmes throughout the year. Notable attendees includedJeffry Burke from Uisce Éireann and Joanne Scott, who leads the Water Theme for Green-Schools Ireland.

Celebrating Our #AndSheCycles Ambassadors! We are incredibly proud of our students who attended the #AndSheCycles Ambassador Awards Ceremony 2026 earlier this month at the Midlands Park Hotel in Portlaoise. As part of An Taisce’s Green-Schools Travel programme, this year’s event was the largest to date, bringing together over 100 passionate student leaders from across the country.The ceremony recognized the vital work these ambassadors do to address the stark reality that only 1 in 250 teenage girls in Ireland currently cycles to school.Over the past academic year, our ambassadors have designed surveys, led campaigns, and championed safe, inclusive cycling in our school community. These photos capture a fantastic day of networking, celebration, and well-deserved recognition for their hard work in reclaiming the joy and independence of cycling!
