Let's Read Initiative 2025

Fostering a love for reading is key to unlocking lifelong learning and creativity. To support this, our school is delighted to launch this year's Let's Read' programme, aimed at enhancing literacy skills and inspiring a passion for books among students."

All 1st, 2nd and TY students will be taking part in a 'reading for pleasure' programme called 'Lets' Read'. This is a targeted intervention to improve literacy levels in each year group and to encourage reading as a pastime outside of school.

Every day, for 4 weeks, students will take part in 30 minutes of reading based on the timetable below. The programme will run from Monday 13th January until Friday 7th February 2025.

Week 1

Monday 13th - Friday 17th January

During Period 4 (12:00-13:00) all students should be allocated 30 minutes to read their books.

Week 2

Monday 20th - Friday 24th January

During Period 3 (11:00-12:00) all students should be allocated 30 minutes to read their books.

Week 3

Monday 27th January - Friday 31st January

During Period 2 (09:45-10:45) all students should be allocated 30 minutes to read their books.

Week 4

Tuesday 4th February - Friday 7th February

During Period 1 (08:45-09:45) all students should be allocated 30 minutes to read their books.
