Literacy Update Let's Read at Home Challenge

Let’s Read at Home Challenge

Following the success of our Let’s Read Programme after Christmas, we introduced an extension to this event that encourages students to read in their own time, outside of school hours. Students volunteered to participate in this challenge and chose books that interest them, whether from the school library, home, or elsewhere.

To encourage and motivate the students, especially our reluctant readers, we have been awarding treats and rewards for participation and effort! We are thrilled to announce that 56 of our 1st years have signed up and have been reading for pleasure both in their own time and during some organised events during school over the past few weeks. We had a small celebration for these students on Friday 4th April.

In this age of social media and mobile phones, our goal is to help our students improve their literacy skills and foster a love of reading.
