Board Of Management

Role of the Board of Management in a CEIST school:

  • duty of care for all students in the school
  • public trust function e.g. delivery of quality education, disbursement of funds
  • responsibility for maintaining and promoting the ethos of the school
  • responsibility for compliance with legislative requirements :SDP, expulsions/dropout and as employer
  • commitment to partnership with trustees, parents, staff and wider community
  • commitment to openness, transparency and accountability
  • The agenda should facilitate the Board in discharging these obligations

The Guiding Principles of the Board are:

  • CEIST Charter
  • Articles of Management
  • Blue JMB Manual for Boards of Management- procedural matters
  • Overall framework of legislation, Education Act 1998, Education Welfare Act etc.

The current Board of Management was convened in October 2024 and will serve for 3 years. The Board consists of:

Med Day is a workshop day dedicated to giving 2nd Year students studying Junior Cert Science an insight into what it's like to pursue a Health Sciences-style course at third level.

TY EU Studies students attended a Zoom call with MEP Nina Carberry . This was an engaging question and answer session. The second EPAS teachers’ seminar took place hosted by EPLO at Europa Experience. Visit to Europa experience and The Dail.

Congratulations to our team of four TY students who have qualified for the finals of the 2026 Certified Irish Angus Schools' Competition. This will take place in Croke Park on March 6th 2026. Best of Luck in the Final.
