HSCL - HOME SCHOOL COMMUNITY LIAISON COORDINATOR
Amanda Leahy
I am the Home School Liaison Teacher for Saint Joseph’s Secondary School. My role within
the school is part of the ‘Delivering Equality of Opportunity in Schools’ Scheme. My main role
is to be a support to parents/guardians by offering a key link between home, school and the
community. I offer a wide range of support and guidance with the key aim of helping your
child reach their full potential in school.

Supports offered by the HSCL:
 Home visits
 Support parents to ensure your child’s regular attendance at school
 Assist with the transfer of students from primary to secondary school
 Liaise between parents and teachers
 Support with your child’s behavioural and emotional issues
 Link families with local agencies e.g Jigsaw
 Run courses to promote parents’ personal development
 Run courses to promote parents’ positive participation in your child’s education

Med Day is a workshop day dedicated to giving 2nd Year students studying Junior Cert Science an insight into what it's like to pursue a Health Sciences-style course at third level.

TY EU Studies students attended a Zoom call with MEP Nina Carberry . This was an engaging question and answer session. The second EPAS teachers’ seminar took place hosted by EPLO at Europa Experience. Visit to Europa experience and The Dail.

Congratulations to our team of four TY students who have qualified for the finals of the 2026 Certified Irish Angus Schools' Competition. This will take place in Croke Park on March 6th 2026. Best of Luck in the Final.
