Board of Management Parent Representative Nomination Form

Parent Nominations to the Board of Management

The current Board of Management of St Joseph’s Secondary School is coming to the end of its term of office and a new Board will commence on October 15th 2021 for three years.

The Board of Management of a Voluntary Secondary School is charged with managing the school on behalf of the Trustees. The Board comprises eight members four nominated by the Trustees, two elected by the parents and two elected by the teaching staff. All school policy in relation to Enrolment, Finance, Employment, Pastoral Care, Discipline, Planning and Policy Formation etc. is set by the Board. The role of the Board is pivotal to the running of the school and parent representation is a vital part of this. The role of parents on the Board is vital and the election of parent nominees should be given serious consideration.

Attached find a Nomination Form for Parents Nominees on the new Board. The form should be downloaded here and a hard copy returned to the school office marked to the Secretary of the Board of Management by 24th of September. To be eligible a person must be a parent/legal guardian of a student enrolled for the year 2021/2022. Please ensure that any parent you are nominating is willing to serve.

You will then be issued with a Ballot Paper of all nominees and asked to vote for your preferred choice. The top two will take their place on the Board of Management on October 15th.
