Rush local and past pupil Ciara Reddin has asked us to help collect plastic bottle caps. Please collect these up for us and keep them from ending up in the sea. The collection point is up at the front door.

Hi all,

A past pupil and local to Rush, Ciara Reddin, has gotten in touch with regard to a new sustainability project she is developing. After touring a local green bin recycling plant, Ciara was horrified to find that plastic bottle caps are not recycled when they reach the plant and commonly end up on our beaches. They are in the top 10 most collected items during beach cleans worldwide.

Ciara has started collecting bottle caps in the community and we are hoping to contribute to this, helping a past pupil and keeping the beautiful beaches of rush plastic free.

We have set up a collection point at the front door of the school. We are collecting all plastic bottle caps and milk jug and carton tops. Students and staff just drop them into the large water bottle and Ciara will collect this at the end of the school year.

The Green School's Committee
