St Vincent de Paul Campaign begins #STJsings4SVP

St Joseph's Secondary School Rush (Daragh Nealon, Principal) is organising this fundraising appeal in aid of the St Maurs Conference of the St Vincent de Paul.

About our project:

In 2019, students in St Joseph's Secondary School in Rush collected €14,000 worth of food to support the local division of the St Vincent de Paul. The students put together 365 fantastic hampers which were delivered to local families that needed a helping hand coming up to Christmas. That was 365 hampers for 365 families in our community. In 2021, over €9,000 was raised from our online fundraising campaign.

Fundraising possibilities and opportunities have changed since the pandemic, at a time when many families needed this help more than ever before.

HOWEVER our students are not ones for shying away from taking on a challenge and they've really pulled it out of the bag once again this year with our fourth online fund raising event that we would love you to support.

Running from Tuesday 5th December until Friday 15th December, our students will be holding a virtual busking session, that a dedicated group of students have worked on over the past number of weeks!

With the money raised, we will be purchasing food and vouchers from local shops. These vouchers will be presented to the St Maurs Conference of the St Vincent de Paul for distribution to local families in the community just before Christmas.

As a guide, each hamper will equate to €50, should anyone wish to donate the cost of a full hamper (made up of treats and vouchers), and help make Christmas that bit easier for a family. However, all donations, no matter the value, are most appreciated. We know it's not easy for everyone to donate this year, but if you can, every cent is most appreciated.

Please support our students, families in the community and local businesses in whatever way you can, if you can. Every cent raised will go towards helping a local family this Christmas. This year is going to be a difficult year for many families. Your donation can make it a little less difficult!

On behalf of all of the staff and students involved, we thank you in advance for your support, we hope you enjoy our two performances and please share them using the hashtag #STJsings4SVP

Every Christmas in St Joseph’s, we organise a fundraiser in aid of our local St Vincent de Paul and this year is no different.
Our students, under the guidance of our Music teachers, have prepared two online performances as part of our virtual busking fundraiser.
Their first performance is of Tina Turner’s famous song, The Best.
Please watch, share and donate if you can. All proceeds will stay local.
Please support this great caus. The Go Fund Me link:
The appeal will end on Friday 15th December. Thanks for your support.
The videos were taken by Kian Casey, Aisling Kelly and Louis Monks.
The song and video was arranged, recorded, produced and edited by our Head Boy, Stephen Boyle.
